New to me old cub

Postby kricketts7 » Fri Nov 10, 2023 3:31 pm

Hi from Ohio!
I just acquired an old cub that appears to have been manufactured in June of 66.
It has a fast hitch and came with a belly mower, one bottom plow and a nice cultivator.
I'm looking forward to learning lots.
I got this to help out on our 14 acre hobby farm. We have chickens and turkeys!
Thanks in advance for all your help - I've already ready some very helpful threads!

Hi,
The Cub operator's manual can help you learn about maintenance that the Cub needs.
Below is the 1965 Cub and LoBoy operator's manual. The experts on here recommend people read it. It has lots of info about operation, maintenance, and lubrication. There is a table of contents on page 1, and the index begins on page 75.
It shows how Cubs originally looked in it. The lube section begins on page 59. The Lubrication Guide is on page 65.

https://farmallcub.com/rudi_cub/www.cle ... index.html

It shows the electrical system that a 1965, and 1966 Cub originally had.
Cubs made after mid 1964 originally have 12 volt, negative ground electrical systems.
They have said on here that IH didn't make a new operator's manual every year.
If the link for the manual won't work, you may need to make a 2nd post. They have said people need to make 2 posts to access the manuals.
I sent you a PM, you get to it at the top of the page. :)

If you aren't already aware, there is a Cubfest, The Barnyard Bash, held in Harrison, Ohio, the first week in June each year. It's a Great opportunity to meet some fellow enthusiasts, as well as learn a lot about these little machines! If you're having issues with your cub, perhaps bring it and get some help with your problem from the many knowledgeable folks that attend. Family is also welcome! There's good food and great company.
Here is a link to this past year's bash:
