Primer wasn't used, so I'd suspect you have a Demo.

Re: 1949 farmall cub
Thanks Bob, I'll tell my brother about how it was once white.
He has nixed the bearings now, I will just put it together with the used 2nd gear and 1st/rev fork. The tractor is rarely used, just to move a boat trailer around, and to make the neighbors jealous, he says they all want one. Heck I want one too now.

If you go to DSCF (Deep South Cub Fest) in Sneads, FL next Feb. you will have a chance to meet a bunch of great Forum members, learn a lot, get some hands-on experience, and maybe someone will bring a cub to sell that you can't resist...so come with a trailer!!!!

Re: 1949 farmall cub
Oh boy, today I received a package from JP Salvage, in it was a very nice looking second gear with 36 teeth. I had ordered a 35 tooth gear for my brothers Cub. So at this point I am thinking what to do. Can I just go ahead and get the 16 tooth 2/3 gear to match the 36 tooth 2nd gear? Thanks Otis

Re: 1949 farmall cub
I'd call JP first and let them know you received the wrong gear. If the 35 tooth gear isn't available, then you still have the option of buying the 2/3 gear.

Re: 1949 farmall cub
Thank Bob, I talked to someone at JP yesterday at 4 pm central time, was told to call back on Monday, the parts man was out picking up tractors.
I just wanted to make sure no problem if I go with newer sliding gear too.
Its Monday and I called JP and ordered the newer 2 / 3 to match the 36t gear.
So it should be ok. Better maybe. Thanks for all the help, Otis
