I learned a lot about updraft carburetors while talking to an elderly gentleman over the weekend. Vacuum leaks anywhere on the intake system can cause all kinds of problems. I have rebuilt several Zenith 12911 carbs with good results. The one I am dealing with now is warped allowing for a vacuum leak. My understanding is this can cause it to run rich? In the meantime I got and installed the above mentioned USA made clone. The tractor runs like a top. IF we can get the damaged jet out and repair the threads on the old one I’ll repair the warpage and have a spare.

The economy kit from McDonald. Not much to them if the jets are ok. Needle and seat and new gasket
