Hi Guys,
Posting this in the Cub section so it gets the most eyes on it. I found this under the seat of the 140 I just brought home. Since it's IH red I'm thinking it might be something tractor related..........but have no clue. If you recognize it please let me know.
thanks,
bob

It looks like the hook used to unlatch the fast hitch from the seat; homemade.

Well........I guess I didn't post this in the Cub section.......it sucks getting old! Bob.....thanks. That would make sense, since it has a Fast Hitch. Glad I didn't toss it.

Re: Anybody know what this thing is?
That is definitely what it is. I've seen alot of people tie a rope to the latch and tie other end to the back of the seat.

Re: Anybody know what this thing is?
Hi guys,
So did every new tractor that had a Fast Hitch come with a hook to unlatch it? If what I have is a homemade version what did the original look like? I don't recall seeing anything like a hook tool in the parts manual.
Thanks,
Bob

Re: Anybody know what this thing is?
Bigger tractors with Fast-Hitch came with a similar item. I don't think they had one for any of the one-point tractors as it was (presumably) close enough to reach without one. By the way, IH called it a "latch hook".

Re: Anybody know what this thing is?
Jim is correct. Just google that and it'll pop up images of original ones and very similar repros. They came on the Super C and 200 tractors that I'm aware of, and possibly tractors larger than that too.
