1A-60 Snow & Grader Blade bolt in steering box

Postby inairam » Sat Nov 28, 2020 5:06 pm

What is the bolt size and length for the bolt that goes through the square tube in the steering box/ bolster for the grader blade// snowplow?

I pick up a blade and that was missing. The manual does not call out the bolt size and length

My book (a parts catalog) sys 3/4-10NC x 18. You should be able to confirm all but the thread pitch with the parts you do have.

TC-52B is the part catalog for the tractor (100/130/140). The blade is included in an implement parts catalog. Sometimes it takes some searching to find a listing, or even to find a catalog that might have the listing.
SAI-1, Farm Implements for use with Farmall Super-A Tractor, dated 4-1-49 doesn't have it (blade wasn't out then).
SAI-1A, Farm Implements for use with Farmall Super-A Tractor, dated 11-9-51 has it (where I found your answer).
F1i-1 Farm Implements for use with Farmall 100 Tractor, dated 6-20-55 doesn't have it and refers you to SAI-1A.

You asking about the ones that hold the mounting plate to the bell housing? They are the only ones that come to mind other than for the substitute drawbar.

If I remember correctly there was 2 square pieces of metal about 1 inch thick that the bolt went through that went with the long bolt for the front mount blade you were asking about. One went on the entrance where the bolt started through and the other went where the bolt came out. All this is to keep bolt stable and straight through. Pembroke

I believe you’ll find those are for a Cub, not a SA/140.

How did you get the 3/4" bolt through the 5/8" hole?

The hole measured 0.734 so i ground 0.015 off the bolt that's how.
