3 coil voltage regulator?
I have a 1940 B with electric start, 6 volt, 2 brush generator. The voltage regulator that is on it has 3 coils/switches inside of it. Everything i see online suggests farmall only used 2 coil VRs for the 6 volts. Will this even work? Could it be my no-charge issue? Generator tests good.

Its a 2 brush generator which requires a regulator...or so I thought?

Along with a single coil cut-out relay, the B should have a 3-brush generator. If you have a 2-brush generator, it must have migrated from another application. It and your existing regulator may be compatible with each other.
As tst said, a picture would help. Does the generator still have the Delco tag? If so, can the part/serial number be read? What color is the background on the generator tag? Is there a number on the regulator? Some of them have a 3-digit number stamped on the lower frame, possibly on a mounting flange.

Autolite Gdz-4804A generator, internet information, 1939 Packard, Studebaker, and probably many other applications.
Stop by auto parts store and provide the information on the generator and 1939 vehicle identification. They should be able to get you the correct voltage regulator.
If you just want a working tractor, change over to 12 volt single wire alternator. Conversion will cost just about the same as a quality 6 volt voltage regulator. No need to change the 6 volt starter.

Your problem could be in the regulator. I see some corrosion in your regulator picture, which suggests you may have corrosion on the contact points as well. I suggest you start by going through the troubleshooting procedure to isolate the failure. Pay close attention to the grounding of all components. All the troubleshooting and cleanup is free (unless you need to get a multimeter, which you need anyway). Use ONLY a point file to clean the regulator points. Do NOT use emery cloth, sand paper, or any other abrasive on the points. Be careful to not bend ANYTHING inside the regulator. If troubleshooting and cleanup doesn't fix it, then you will probably need to replace some components. If you determine that the regulator needs replacing, it would probably not be worthwhile to try to find a regulator that matches your generator. It that point, you might go for a 12-volt alternator. Depending on your intention/use for the tractor, you might also ignore the charging system and buy a battery maintainer.
