Main bearings position
I have a question my main bearings from the front of engine the first one is stamped 1 with the stamped away from cam the second one has the stamp away from cam also but the third the stamp it beside camshaft I don't believe the engine has been apart it has ih standard stamped bearings should I put them back with stamps facing the cam or back the way they came out of tractor away from cam with one facing ?

#s are on the cam side, maybe installed wrong new or someone else, check clearance with plastic gauge

The lock tang on the bearing shell should be on the same side.
