Farmall Super A 1947 Wiring

Postby Mangano88 » Mon Mar 23, 2015 10:33 am

I am currently fixing/restoring a 1947 Super A, the whole wiring system is missing any ideas on how to rewire. It's a 6v.

Try a search for topic on the farmall cub forum, I think I saw a post there about Brillman would make a harness if given the details of your system.

There were only 70 Super As built in 1947. So it isn't likely yours is really a '47. I point this out not to argue but because the wiring of that model changed in 1950 (at serial 286,222) and you really need to know which side of that line it was built.

The wiring schematics are the same as the first 2 versions of the Cub wiring, which can be seen in the Cub FAQ, here:
http://www.atis.net/CubFAQ/cub_faq_2.html#q3

As far as how to go about it, the easiest way is probably to buy a complete new harness, rather than making you own up. Reproduction harnesses are available from multiple sources. Two that people on this site have been happy with include Brillman https://www.brillman.com/ and Agri-Services http://www.wiringharnesses.com/. You can also get a harness from Case-IH. The one from Case-IH will use modern wire rather than cloth wrapped and will not be a complete "kit". You must get each individual harness (i.e. main, rear light etc.).
