Re: Hy change lots of particulant
I bought a 68 140 serial # 39---. It hadn't been ran in approx 10 years, the tractor is in emaculate shape, but wouldn't start when I got it home , so I did the norm tune. Also rebuilt got cause after I got it started it wouldn't throttle up. Long story short got the old girl running perfect, pieced together a fast hitch, wouldn't lift changed he oil and filter was the nastiest thing I've seen looked like grease caked all over the screen and in the bottom of red, what's going on

Clean it out and put in fresh Hy-Tran or equivalent. If it still doesn't work, try cleaning the orifice and orifice screen that can be reached through the pipe plug in the Touch-Control head.

Re: Hy change lots of particulant
Yes, thanks jim, I changed it out the hydraulic are working but it seems like I don't have enough travel to pick up my IH 215 two bottom mold board plow off the ground I'm not sure if my lack of knowledge with the fast hitch is hindering me or if I have a seal leaking or something. Tell me with the two bottom do I need to hook up the draft link to lift that implement? Also y helper spring bolt is hanging out 3 inches past my fender, I see the fast hitch manual calls for a 1/8 inch clearance from bracket. But I can't turn that bolt. Please help

Re: Hy change lots of particulant
I have no first hand experience with that plow. Without the draft link, isn't the front of the bail attached pretty high up against the platform? If so, the back of the plow may not be able to lift off the ground. I'd properly attach the draft link and see where things end up.
I can't help on the helper spring either. Maybe one of the others with more 140 experience will chime in.

Re: Hy change lots of particulant
Yes I will try putting the draft link on and give it another go. It picks up my 6 ft blade which is fairly heavy, but still only half the weight so of course I'm wondering if something's wrong. I appreciate you time, yes this helper spring has got me upset, I played hell getting it on the first 5 attempts, And on the sixth it just fell in as if it were mocking me., so hopefully someone can help me wi th this conundrum.
