Hey guys, I have a 1976 Farmall 140 tractor. It has the 12 volt alternator factory system and Key Start. It also has the rear hazard flashers (left and right), but it DOES NOT have the turn signals (they just work as hazard lights).
My question is: Does anyone have an "Easy to Read" wiring diagram for this tractor. I have a couple diagrams that help, but to me they aren't that easy to read, and some of the stuff I need aren't in those diagrams (12 volt alt for example, etc.). I saw the "home made" wiring diagrams on the ATIS Farmall Cub site, and I love those! Hopefully some of you guys can help me out.
Pictures of your own 140 tractor would also be great as I would like to see mounting places, wiring placement, etc. because my tractor caught on fire and burnt up, and replacing all of this is difficult when you don't know where it was mounted or how it was hooked up. THANKS!!!

I don't have a 140 or anything even close but many of these tractors have identical circuitry. The charging / starting systems are all very similar and basic. If you can locate a wiring diagram for something close to your tractor you should be able to figure it out.

BD, do you suppose a wiring diagram for the Super A would be close?

Roy - the super A would still be a 6 volt generator system and he is dealing with a 12 volt alternator system. I would think any of the 12 volt alternator circuit tractors would be similar.

Getting copies of the Operator's and Service Manuals and the Parts Catalog would certainly help in your project. You may find this link helpful, too... http://www.cngco.com/wiring_diagrams/wi ... grams.html

Hey guys, thanks for the info thus far. I do have a couple different 140 wiring diagrams, however they aren't the ones for my particular 140. These diagrams seem to be for earlier models that don't have the 12 volt alternator and the key start. One is in my IT Shop Manual and the other I got off the CASE/IH website. My tractor also has the hazard lights, the rear worklight & tail light combo, and headlights. Hopefully some of you experts out there will have some kind of diagram for this tractor. I know some of you even know how to draw good diagrams on the computer that are super easy to read too. I've seen some of em.
Thanks, and look forward to hearing something soon.
