Re: 130 Touch Control
Hey, EZ...now that you are an expert, I have TWO you can rebuild!!! We can videotape your doing it for presentations at cubfests!! What I should do is buy two kits (VERY expensive), rebuild both, then sell one unit to pay for the kits so that the rebuild on the one I keep is free!! Did that make any sense? Going to any cubfests...I can bring them!

Re: 130 Touch Control
BD,
Haha, No Cubfests in my immediate future.
These units are not really hard to rebuild. I suppose a video would have been good to have.
Problem is, you get so oily doing the work that you would surely need a second person to do the filming.
Very satisfying work when you get it all back together.
Most Cubfests are a long way from where I live in Northern Ontario.

Re: 130 Touch Control
This is a good write up on the TC rebuild, however I wish there was a specific "How To" on it covering everything and all steps and what to check and look for along the way. I have 2 to rebuild, and several units that could be rebuilt for spares.
How did it turn out EZ? Have you reinstalled it and tried out the operation?

Re: 130 Touch Control
AL,
The rebuild went well.
However, it has not been tested yet as I am still in the process of putting the 130 back together.
There is a manual available for the rebuild, not sure of the number right now.
Also when you order the kit it usually comes with a write-up.
Keep things clean.
As you can see, I stripped mine right down, catalogue all the parts, including orientation, take photos, lots of photos, I find the pictures help you figure out where things go if you forget.
Any more questions, don't hesitate. I may not answer right away though, as I am quite busy with photography right now and don't check in to the board all that much.

Re: 130 Touch Control
Thanks for the reply. I have just ordered the GSS-1024 Touch Control Manual, and have found it to not have very much info besides how to install an o-ring (roll it on) and it has the parts breakdown pictures. I thought it would have step by step diagnosis (it does have troubleshooting), and step by step directions on rebuilding the unit with a kit with pictures for the mechanics. From the list of service bulletins they list in that manual, it seems like those would really fit what I am looking for. Anyone know where I could obtain all of the service bullitens to acconpany my GSS-1024 manual?
Maybe I just need to go ahead and order the kit from Case/IH and just tear into it and make myself figure it out! haha.
