The block part number doesn't help much. I think it means it is a D-239 engine. That should be cast in somewhere, maybe the hidden numbers just below the part number. Diesel? 4 cylinder? How many speeds in the main transmission? Hi-Lo? Reverser? Torque converter?

Jim,
I will look again tomorrow for engine model number..
It is a diesel, 4 cycles, I think..8 speed with Hi-Lo..and one Revere...(not sure on transmission since previous owner do not know anything about the tractor..)

The 2544 serial numbers started at 10250, so it can't be that model.

3514 is getting into the right series/age tractor. However, my reference shows the 3514 with a D-188 engine, not a D-239.

TractorData.com shows the D-188 engine was used on early 3514's and the D-239 was used beginning with tractor serial number 1695. I don't know if that is correct or not.
