I believe the push-pull ignition switch would mount in a cast bracket down low on the steering post. As I recall, this was the same bracket that held the control rod for the belly pump hydraulics on my Dad's 1952 Super M.

But, that was close to 30 years ago. I think I was 4 or 5, and he was picking rocks into the loader bucket with one of my cousins while I "drove" the tractor. Basically, he put it in 1st gear at an idle, and left me on the seat. It steered so hard with that loader and was moving so slow that there was no way I could possibly get into trouble, at least. My sole responsibility was to push the ignition switch in at the end of the row, or if they needed to stop. I remember kicking it by accident at least once.

The original push-pull ignition and starter button has since been replaced with a key switch and solenoid mounted directly to the starter. Those buttons didn't last very long back then.

Early models were on the bracket mentioned, later ones had the ignition switch on the light bar, as well as the starter switch being on the left side of the steering wheel support where it could be reached by hand.

Yep I got a 40, 42, and a 43 H but don't talk much about them the Cubs are what is fun to play with.

2 busy you could run diesel and gas mixed 50/50 in your H.I had a '47h duel fuel my neighbor has 2 SM 's that are distillate thats the way he does it.I tried it for the heck of it ,but id didn't pull it hard enough to get it good warmed up. It will sputter if its not hot.Thats why they had shutters and hot manifold. Just FYI. TJ

Well my manifold was busted beyond repair so i got a gas manifold on it and put a gas carb kit in. With the price of diesel being higher than gas i don't know if it would be cheaper to operate. I just now got the sediment bowl assembly for the fuel tank and still ned to make a fuel line so i can try it out.

But i need a rear tire on the left side before i can drive it. I just hope the lift all is still good, looks dry in there. I don't think the PO knew much about tractors. He just drove it on a flat on the front instead of fixing it. all it needed was a tube. The rear tire is stiff as a board and i have not been sucsessful in unmounting it. Looks like it will have to be cut off.

I have located a used tire and rim i hope to get one of these days. waiting on pics and owner to be home
