Oil for my B

Postby Tractor Rod » Tue Jan 03, 2023 7:29 pm

Quick question,

Today at Napa I saw 15W-40 Shell Rotella heavy duty diesel oil for an incredible price. I see from several posts that 15W-40 is recommended and I am wondering if the above mentioned Rotella will work or is not advisable in my B?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Thanks. Just didn’t want to mess up with my B. This is my third B and the one I added a second seat, steering wheel, and platform to the left side and I call it my “Grandson” side seat. It is a freewheeling steering wheel and he thinks when I buckle him on with the seat belt that he is actually driving the tractor with me! Of course grandma is always watching so we only drive in first gear barely moving for safety sake!!!! Thanks again….

I like to use Rotella 15-40 T-6 and change it every 2 years. Usually that is 50 hours in my Cub and about 2,000 Miles in my Willys pickup. Never have to add additional oil.

I use the T4 15-40W in all 7 of my varieties and seems to work fine

I run the shell Dino 15w40 in about everything now.
From a 6hp Tecumseh to a 275hp diesel pickup engine!

Sorry I did not stock up a couple years ago! :(
