400d non running

Postby RanchsA » Tue Nov 29, 2016 12:12 pm

Hi all. Just wondering if anyone had an idea on the value of a non running 400d? I don't have much information on it other than it ran when parked 3 years ago. Ad says to make an offer and wasn't sure what would be appropriate here. He is going to text me some pictures when he gets home.
Is there anything these were notorious for?
Thanks as always.

Cracked cylinder heads and expensive repairs, mainly due to operators not letting them cool down before shutting off.

I'd put a non-running 400D at scrap value plus whatever known good parts I needed at the time (about the way to value any non-running tractor).

Thanks for the response Jim. I'm trying to decide if I'd be getting in over my head trying to bring it back to life. Was wondering if I could sneak out a deal and maybe have an easy fix on my hands. Fella claims it ran fine when parked in the barn 3 years ago. Now it turns over and tries to start. It has a loader attached and remote hydraulics. No 2 point on it.
Maybe I should just finish my last CC up before digging up new projects.
