An F14 followed me home yesterday. The fella said it was a 39 and Tractor Data says the same, however, the serial data for F-12 & F-14 from IHC Collection on Wisconsin Historical Society website says it is a late 38. Not super sure which to believe, but I feel that the latter would be more accurate.
The fella I purchased it from said it was around on his family's farm as long as he can remember. He wanted to make sure it went to a buyer that would appreciate it and restore it. Bit rough around the edges, but it is all there and in various needs of repair.
It has the hydraulic lift option and got a few spare parts/accessories to go along with it, including a reproduction manual.
The front tires are pretty much shot. It has the spoke front wheels which I am unsure of if they belong on here or not. The rear wheels are off of an F-12 from what the fella said. I also got the original 9.00-40 wheels with the cast centers with it too. Looked up the price for new 9.00-40 tires... ...heart skipped a few beats The 11-36 rims will be on it for quite a while...
Leaks everywhere, typical of an old tractor. Engine starts and runs strong without any sign of burning oil or leaks. Drove it on and off of the trailer. Everything else works as it should, but needs a bit of work to take the wear and tear out of it and find a couple of missing items. Seems it might be a fairly easy restoration and will likely enjoy it!
I'll post more as I progress with it.

Re: New F-14 Restoration Project
The F-14 was available with 9.00-36 tires. You didn't mention your actual serial number so I don't know if this is relevant or not. Some serial number lists are based on the IH fiscal year, which started November 1. Others are based on the calendar year. The first F-14 on November 1, 1938 was 139607. The first in January, 1939 was 148142. So a tractor in that serial number range could be considered either year, depending on whether you are looking at the fiscal year or calendar year. The F-14 is typically quoted by fiscal year.

Re: New F-14 Restoration Project
Sorry Jim, I meant to include it. It is FS142289. The serial data sheet I have also shows the same data as you have listed. The fiscal year makes sense why there would be a difference between the two. When does the fiscal year usually begin/end? I know with automobiles it is usually a few months before the end of the year.
