Cub Cadet 100

Postby Austin8214 » Fri Apr 06, 2007 6:29 pm

Here are some pics of a Cub Cadet 100 I am thinking about buying.http://pictures.aol.com/galleries/austin8214?backState=prevPage%3D/ap/myAlbums.do%26state%3DalbumId%253D23550.1666.1175900658429.1

The guy wants $400.00 says he has all the missing hardware and such. What do you guys think is it worth the money. The Deck clutch is stuk so whenever the motor is running the deck runs and the voltage regulator is bad but other than that I cannot find anything wrong. What else should I look for?

You will have to spend another $100 or so above your purchase price to repair - fix the PTO clutch (?) and voltage regulator (around $55-). The PTO clutch may not be very expensive to repair - depends on the problem - could be just an adjustment - wear button - or completely worn out.

I can't tell you if $400- is to much. Depends on your location. My feeling is that the tractor is worth about $300 to $350- based on my location.

PS. Welcome to the board.

Check the mower deck and spindles - Spindles get expensive to repair. (Over $100- each time 1, 2 or 3).

$400 is about the correct price. The fenders are worth $150-175 and $15-45 if the reflectors are good. You can find used decks and replace the spindled. That cast iron deck is the best deck IH or anyone else ever made. My personnel opinion.

I would check with ralph's cubs here first for any parts then hit Ebay and i'm sure you will get everything you need either way.

To me anything that looks decent like that is worth the money these are awesome garden tractors and work horses too.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

As stated above , you will have to put a few $ into it but I feel it would be well worth the money when all is done and said. You will have a sweet little machine that has proven itself for years. A lot of folks don't realize what you can do with them. My $.02. Grump

My feeling is this...how much would you have to spend to buy a garden tractor built like an old ih cub cadet today?

Even if I had $1000 invested in my IH CC, it will still out last todays "garden tractors" IMHO.

I totally agree I think these mowers will be around for many more years to come they just do not make them like they used to.
