M&W 9 speed on E-pay

Postby wdeturck » Wed Nov 21, 2007 8:38 am

M&W on E-Pay. I saw this at RPRU in Bloomsburg, PA in June and it has the highest SN(1090) of all the M&W's I know of. Image
The Geezer from IHregistry.com which crashed and is now Cub Cadet Collectors.

Some pretty harsh comments at the bottom of the ebay listing about the rarity of these. :x

I have a guess who put those comments there, but won't say who I think it is. He's a smartA$$ loudmouth.

One thing for sure is the engine isn't the original to the tractor since it has a dipstick.

I'd like to know where the NOS M&W's are in the "midwest" though.

I wouldn't put a lot of faith in the comments about 500 made, so many left, 2 NOS in the mid west, etc., at the bottom of the ebay listing. They are extremely rare.

It is a gearbox made by M&W Gear Co., and it's use on a cub Cadet was authorized by IH. It is a unit that goes between the front frame section and the gear reduction housing on the front of the stock transmission. It adds about 2" to the length of the tractor, and provides overdrive, underdrive, or direct drive to the transmission giving you 3 gear ratios or speeds for each gear in the transmission. It cannot be used/installed on a tractor equipped with the Danco UD6 creeper attachment.

wdeturck,

You should buy that!! These are pretty rare. Sure would like to have it for my orginal, but will buy fenders instead. Alittle cheaper!!! I will be watching it though, to see what it goes for.
