Need Some Hydrostatic Help

Postby Bill Hudson » Thu Dec 03, 2015 10:31 pm

I have a 1250 that I'm going through before we give it to our daughter and I might have run into a snag. I removed the rear transmission/differential cover to drain the oil. I thought that I saw something fall in the pan but it made no sound and fishing a magnet through the drain pan did not produce anything. Great, I'm good to go, so I buttoned everything up and refilled with fresh Hy-Tran. Turns out there was something that fell in the pan.

It is plastic and I hope that it is a piece of a broken filling device that broke off while a PO was topping off the trans/diff. I have not been in a hydro so I do not know if this is, in fact, a part of the trans/diff. Your help is appreciated.

Thanks folks.

Bill,
I've had many CC hydro rears open and apart and that's NOT from one. I'd say your guess is correct, something broke off while filling.
