While disassembling my overrunning clutch for a pulley swap (cracked spokes... ), I found the HEX DRIVE was broken in half:
Would anyone happen to have one they could part with? Or maybe the whole clutch assembly, if you don't want to take it apart?
Hoping to have this tractor back out to the farm SOON to do road maintenance and some mowing!
Thanks for any help.

When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!

Isn't there a piece or two in there that function perfectly even if broken in two? Isn't that it? How about brazing it back together?

Re: Needed: Woods 42 CF-6 Spindle HEX DRIVE
You are correct, Jim...since there is no room for it to shift, and no place for it to go, it basically still functioned. I had tested it when I bought it, so there was no reason to think there was anything wrong!
I am not a welder, so I don't know if it could be brazed. It would need to be smooth on the inside, since the spindle shaft goes through it.

Cast iron exterior can be brazed. The brazing shouldn't affect the interior machined steel. Any brazing seepage can be easily removed/polished out.Dale Finch wrote:I am not a welder, so I don't know if it could be brazed. I have an excuse. CRS.

Hmmm...I have a friend I can ask who might be able, or maybe know someone who could try. Thanks, all.
Will let you know what I find.

I have one that I took off a deck that had rusted. I saved the parts that were still good. Bui I am in northeast Arkansas.
Eight Cubs-finally got a '57.
