Missouri Drought Conditions

Osage county, Missouri is listed as abnormally dry/moderate drought conditions. It's getting dry.

Spot sprayed for weeds yesterday. Pasture is brown, some weeds appear to be wilting. Dry enough that one acreage neighbor was able to dig out/clean out and enlarged a pond.

Will see how it goes. May have to backhoe/clean out the pool at the year around spring to water cattle.

Started watering one year old pecans and fruit trees on acreage. Watered in town small garden because the horseradish leaves were wilting.

Pretty dry here as well. I caught a fish yesterday that had ticks on it.

The southwest part of the state, it's been classified as severe drought. Or at least that's what the weather forecaster said on the local St. Louis news.

Moderate drought here, too. 1/8 of an inch of rain in July. Thunderstorms forecast for tomorrow evening.

Maybe this high heat is about to break. They’re forecasting a cool front to move through today (Sunday) with lower temps and a good chance for rain tonight and into Monday morning. Predicting an inch for our area (east along I-70). High temps the rest of the week are expected to be at or below seasonal highs (80s).

Hope you all in mid and southern MO get some moisture as well.

Local clay soil is rock hard. Moles in lawn. I can push the trap into the tunnel but the ground is so hard that I can not open the trap to the catch position. 200 Lbs, you step on the trap to engage it in the trapping position.

Metal detecting yesterday afternoon in shaddy areas. Only detecting anything near the surface. Penny signal about 2" down. Chipped out the target. Rock hard clods. Had to hammer a clod to get to the penny.

Watered the pecan and fruit trees on acreage and in town horseradish yesterday.

Looks like you all in mid and eastern MO are getting some much needed rain this morning. We are in west central MO. We’ll still need more after this is done.
