That's a good looking field. Most hayfields around here are dried up and brown. Did finally get some rain Monday and Tuesday this week.
Hay prices in CT and MA are really high and in short supply.

It’s been dry here, too. Just enough rain to keep the fields in good shape. The garden… not so much.

I don't expect muh of a second cutting here, although we did get 1 1/2 inches of rain this week, may get some growth before winter.

I just saw this baler in an ad at the bottom of this page, it makes a round bale 28" long X 20" tall weighing 40 pounds and requires 15HP or more.

Back in the 1950's Allis Chalmers built a small round baler. They didn't last long. The bales were hard to handle. Any round baler I have ever seen, the AC included, requires coming to a stop to eject the bale. Power must be running while the baler does this. Without live power this was a problem which is one reason AC built the WD45 with both a foot and fake hand clutch. The bales had to be dropped on the ground and then picked up. They were not easy to handle in the mow. A neighbor bought one. Used it one spring. Hired Dad to bale the rest of the year and the following year bought a JD14T. Vern
