Bow Hunting Success

Postby ricky racer » Tue Oct 25, 2022 4:53 pm

I was out enjoying God's great creation last Friday bow hunting and the good Lord smiled on me and sent the big guy my way.

He did! Congratulations on your deer! How many can you take in MI during bow season?

We can take 2 so I need to be pretty selective on my next one since it will end my season.

Rick, I believe that would only end your bow hunting but then there is firearms and after that black powder. It has been years since I knew about Michigan deer laws but you used to also be able to hunt with a bow during firearms season provided you had a firearms license and complied with firearms regs. ????? So how about those seasons? Get any? Vern

You are correct Vern, you can hunt through both firearms and muzzle loader season with a bow. During the firearms season you must wear a blaze orange hat, jacket or vest. I typically use my bow most of the time but I did take my muzzle loader out a couple of times. I ended up not taking any other deer this season. I had several opportunities early in the season but passed knowing that it would end my season. I really enjoy getting out and spending time in Gods creation so I rarely shoot a second deer. :?
