Corn is tassling here, picked a few cucumbers, grape tomatoes, and too many zucchini. Finally able to walk in the tilled soil, was 4 inche of mud.
Woodchuck population is dropping, neighbor caught 12 in have a heart traps, I caught 2 in kill traps. I should call the neighbor's traps Have a sandwich traps, since he eats them.

I haven't had to water for a month or more. Cukes, squash, leafy greens, beans and tomatoes are just coming in. Pulled all the peas a couple weeks ago and replanted with beans and radishes

Re: 2023 garden season
I'd like to say that is affecting a quality of life for a garden, but mostly it takes a cloudy state that rarely sees the sun and makes it even more cloudy.

Re: 2023 garden season
Pecans. 3 semi mature pecan trees about 20 years old. Some nuts on all 3 trees. This is the first year that we have had more than a nut or two on the trees.
Have to keep an eye on the trees to see if there is going to be any nuts to harvest. Squirrels.

I have an excuse. CRS.

Now that I've gotten rid of the woodchucks, the raccoons are here. Wiped out my first planting of corn, and are checking the second planting for ripeness! Grrrrrrrrrr!

Trust me. You haven’t gotten rid of the groundhogs. They’re just on vacation.

Likely, Don, but right now, raccoons are the issue. I set a Have a heart trap with tuna, and caught a very grumpy feral cat. Reset it with more tuna, nd it was tripped and empty tonight. Might be the cat retaliating. He won't be happy, when he finds I reset it with an ear of store bought corn!

Re: 2023 garden season
Since you can’t use the preferred means in your neighborhood, you need a solar powered electric fence around the garden.
