Beverly put in sweets this year. They were in 4 20 foot rows. One row on each side of two raised beds she had me make. They plants grew like weeds and covered the whole area and the area around them. Man she dug a few today and they were not regulation footballs, but bigger than childs footballs. We had tomatoe sandwiches again for lunch today. Just thick slices of tomatoe on white bread with a little mayo. This years sweet pickles and fresh apple sauce from a neighbors tree. Who says you can't eat good in the big apple.

Merlin in that 30x50 patch Bev has a lot of stuff. Onions. Tomatoes (5varities), Peppers (2varieties), Garlic, Egg Plant, Yellow squash, Green beans, Carrots, Zuchuini, Cukecumbers, Snow peas, Pumpkins, Lettuce (4varities)and a great Asperagras patch. I get to turn it over every spring. I generally turn in 30 to 60 bags of leaves every year and the weeds are kept doam by mulch of grass clippings from 5 of my neighbors. Bev has had a garden since she was a kid. She started with her father. I have had a garden since the WWII Victory garden in my parents back yard. The year we were living in Panama City Fl while my father worked at Tyndall field relatives kept our garden up.

I'm heading to Tyndall tomorrow evening to do some work!

I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Now Bill...You & Beverly have got to try FRIED SWEET TATER CHIPS
Put some peanut oil in your deep fryer...wash your sweet taters...cut them with a crinkly potatoe cutter (leaves a pinking shear edge on the slices)...deep fry them in the oil for 2 to 3 minutes...remove, drain on paper towels and EAT N' ENJOY NOW YER EATIN' GOOD IN YER NEIGHBORHOOD
For CAJUN FRIED SWEET TATER CHIPS...Just dust em' lighly with Chef Paul's Blackened Redfish Seasoning...while they're still draining on the towels
