Re: potatoes
Hilled the potatoes and fertilized this past weekend. Won't be long now. Corn is knee high, peas up and growing. Had to replant my okra so it will be a little late this year. Cucumbers and squash looking good.

Re: potatoes
When I was 10 years old. We use to plant 500lbs of potatoes. My job was to fill a 5 gallon bucket with the seed potatoes and drop them in the row. Yesterday I helped a friend plant 250lbs of potatoes. At 67 years old I filled the 5 gallon bucket with potatoes and started the row. My back was killing me I had to set the bucket down and keep moving it. I guess I was stronger at 10 years old then I am now.

Re: potatoes
I planted our potatoes in the half whiskey barrels Saturday, last year we had a pretty good yield using barrels.

Re: potatoes
What do you use to plow up the potatoes when you harvest them?

I put a 10" shovel on my front cultivators. It works really well for me.

I am familiar with sweeps. What does a 10" shovel look like and how do you setup in your Cub with that shovel.
Digging up taters has always been a challenge at our farm.
