154 Throttle and Choke cable routing

Postby Domahawks » Thu Apr 25, 2024 6:18 pm

Brand spanking new Cub owner here so forgive me if my phrasing is rudementary as these are my first tractors. Inherited 2 154s and a Yellow Offset Lo-Boy from dear old grandad in various stages of disrepair. So expect more posts lol :lost:

Installing new throttle and Choke cables from Bob's on the 154 because they were seized.

I am pretty certian they were replaced once already (probably in the 90s) and not routed properly and were just kind of hanging.

I have the throttle cable router over the rails near the sediment bowl then over to the clamp on the bolt on the head. There is a flat piece of steel also hanging off of that that was bent out of the way with a cable clamp on the end. I am assuming this is for the choke cable?

Also, I am curious if the governer linkage should be set with the cable at low idle or WOT positioning.

Thanks for any insight!

set everything at idle. lever back,--gov back to idle. You might have to re-adjust after you run it if the travel is a bit off.
