Hello and welcome the Forum. The first thing you don't do, is refer to these tractors as "Cadets". They are very different. The 184 has some improvement over the 154 but your leak may not be oil. The original fuel filter, from the tank sits right above the main deck belt. When the shut-off is left open, while not running, it may drip fuel onto the belt. This may also travel down and over the rear seal. It would be easy to think the rear seal is leaking when it hasn't yet. You have either a gage or oil pressure light because there is a pressure sensor and the main thing is to protect the mains.

If it is oil, it is likely from the rear main seal. Many people on the forum have their rear seal retainers machined to fit a new seal because the original seal fits loosely and ends up spinning in the retainer. TST is machining retainers for a very reasonable cost. Send him a PM.

Rear main seal leak is pretty common on any C-60 engine. The 184 is not too hard to replace the seal on. On the last one I did, I did most of the job sitting on the right side of the mower deck, working through the side panels. Probably took about 2 hrs. to complete. It's been a few years, so I don't remember the step by step, I just remember that the PTO clutch was the hardest part. Be sure to contact Tim Telleur (TST on the forum) to get a reworked seal retainer.

You don't have to remove the PTO. Here's the long process to tear it apart.

Remove mower deck
Unhook Steering Arm that runs front to back on left side of tractor and swing out of the way
Remove right side access panel & the Flywheel Cover (underneath tractor)
From the right side access panel, use a 3/4" wrench to move the tensioner pulley inward to Loosen belt. Slide belts forward off the tensioner pulley.
Remove Rockshaft (the mower deck lift assembly)
Remove shift fork
* Inspect shift fork for wear. Forks should be a rectangular shape. Weld and grind back to original shape.
Loosen and slide forward U-Joint
Remove driveshaft (U-Joint and Throwout bearing carrier comes out with driveshaft)
* Inspect driveshaft splines for wear. Splines should be square not triangles by clutch plate.
* Inspect Throwout Bearing carrier for wear. Area near the shift fork may show wear.
* Inspect Throwout Bearing for wear - Inspect front face and check bearing for smoothness while applying pressure to front of bearing.
Remove PTO Drive pulley
* Highly recommend replacing PTO Belts - Only use OEM Belts that are matched pairs! If replacing, additional disassembly of the electric PTO will be required (3 bolts). Take pictures and Count the bolt turns or exposed threads so it can be put back together exactly as is now. The bolts do not get tightened down.
Remove Pressure Plate (clutch plate comes out with it)
* Inspect Pressure plate fingers for wear
* Inspect Clutch plate splines for wear. They should be square, not triangles.
Drain Oil (may also want to change oil filter at this time)
Remove oilpan & clean thoroughly. Also clean the Oil Pickup Screen.
* This is a good time to take a look at the crankshaft mains and rod bearings.
Remove Flywheel
* Inspect Pilot Bearing for wear
* Inspect flywheel starter teeth for wear. These typically wear in 2-3 areas around the flywheel. Rotate or replace if needed.
Remove Seal Retainer.

Clean Clean Clean! and Apply Grease at moving surfaces.
