I'm not sure mine has a 3 point mode, I do not have a selector valve, I think it may be tied into the same cylinder as the deck cylinder.

There is a separate cylinder for the rockshaft and the 3-point hitch. The 3-point can be tee'd into the hose or a selector valve may be added.
When tee'd in, the cylinder with the least weight on it actuates first, then the other one. So if you have a mower deck connected to the rockshaft and nothing on the 3-point, then the 3-point will actuate first and when it gets to a stop then the rockshaft will actuate. You can quickly tire of waiting on the 3-point to actuate so a lockout bar is available. This disables the 3-point.
Here's a picture of the hydraulic selector valve (partially installed) on my 184.

Apparently mine does not have a selector valve, yet.

That Tee is exactly where the selector valve goes. If you buy one, just make sure that you also get the supporting brackets with the valve.

Re: Adding a 3 point and a creeper gear to a 154?
The donor tractor got some use today. Had been wanting to see if it would run, ended up rebuilding the carb and putting some points on it, it fired right up and was able to pull my working tractor out of a sticky situation. I was pulling small bushes/shrubs out with it and lost 1st and reverse. It feels like its going in third and fourth, but it stalls in those gears. When it "feels" like its in neutral, its actually in reverse, will have to troubleshoot that tomorrow after work.
The donor tractor ran well, but I noticed I couldn't get the creeper gear into low, shifter arm moves, but it never falls into low. Also it appears there is no hydraulics, when I move the valve, nothing happens, will also have to troubleshoot that. Maybe the donor becomes the working tractor! So much fun!

Fixed the working tractor today, had to borrow a fork from the donor tractor for now. The donor tractor was welded where it the part folds into itself, not sure if that was a factory change or a farmer fix, seems pretty smart and would be hard to brake again like that.

The weld is a common farmer fix. New parts are readily available.

This one arrived today in the mail, from Hamalton Bobs. It has a weld already in place, should last a long time.

I believe that IH added that weld to later forks.
