[quote="outdoors4evr"]I used a Tee in the oil pressure so that I could have both the gauge and the idiot light. I just mounted them on a flat plate.

Thats a pretty slick setup, but currently my light is not working. Possibly because no bulb, or could be wiring IDK, but my thought was cut a hole in the dash for it where the light is, and always know what it is. For the water I used a connector like that on a Car that I used to have, but just seen that on the elbow and wondered if that would be a good spot. I do like your hour meter though since I am doing a complete engine overhaul might be worth another addition to the machine.

I don't think you will get good (usable) readings from the water inlet elbow. It will always read cold and probably be too late to report when an issue occurs.
Thermosiphon works as long as the water path is complete and open. It doesn't work when the fluid level is low.
This is the condition you need to capture and be made aware.

Some people have drilled and tapped their water outlet (top of the engine) If I were brave enough, this would be the ideal place for a temp sensor. Just make sure it doesn't interfere with the gas tank mounting stud.
