Gas Cap Recall
I just thought this might be a good time to remind everyone, especially new owners of the recall on the factory gas cap. According to IH the factory cap can be dangerous and have an ongoing recall on them. Check your tractor with the following link to see if your tractor needs a safe gas cap. https://www.ihgascap.com/ I personally knew of a farmer that went to refill the tank on his tractor and fuel spurted out when the cap was removed, ran down on the engine and caught fire. He suffered severe facial burns and all but burned off one ear. A several million dollar settlement was of little comfort to his mental well being afterwards, and, well it was a bad ending. Don't refill a hot tractor, even if it is not running.

Re: Gas Cap Recall
Thank you, I would have not known this unless just browsing through the posts. My new to me tractor has the old fuel cap. I have that new one on order now. You might have just saved a life. Thank you very much.

Re: Gas Cap Recall
Thank you all for the info. I called both numbers this morning. Brandon's number ending in -1917 was disconnected, but the person who answered 331-332-2411 was fantastic. Apparently my request fell through the cracks back in October but now the replacement caps are scheduled to be on their way to me by the end of next week. This group is amazing (and so was the gentleman who handled my request)!!
