184 exhaust valve spring installation
So I'm installing the exhaust valve springs / new ones on my 184, It's been apart for a while due to rebuilding motor and block was at machine shop, and I can't remember the orientaion of the exhaust springs....now remember the 184 has the rotators on the exhaust springs and different springs for the exhaust valves vs the intake.....the exhaust springs on one end appear to have the coils bunched up more so than on the other end.......my question is: does the bunched up end go towards the rotator/valve stem tip or facing down against the block/meaning on the spring seat area of the block?

Re: 184 exhaust valve spring installation
The end of the spring, with the coils close together, should be installed against the spring seat of the block.
