3 point hitch question

I have a 74 154 cub I installed a 3 point hitch and dont have the diverter/ selector valve installed. I do have what i think is a lock down bar. My question is were does it go and how is it installed?

Top of page, PDF manuals, then numbered cubs. There is an operator's manual for the 154. Free down load.

Page 15 in the operator's manual shows the lock out bar. Also included are several pages on operating the hydraulic system.

It's well worth obtaining the operator's manual, service manual, and parts manual for your tractor.

Thanks Eugene. The PDF files are prety much useless with my dial up. I do have a parts manual for the tractor but its not the greates when looking for parts placement. I was able to load the operators manual from Rudis Manuals. that seams to work the best for me. 1/2 hour to complete. Not sure what you mean by recent previous post. I looked through the index of posts and didnt see anything. I could have overlooked and missed it. found what I needed, A picture of placement in use. Now see that my pins that would hold it are wrong but thats an easy fix. Thanks to Eugene and RudI.

I can't help on the 3pt question but a suggestion to work around the dial-up slow speed is to get a memory stick and go to the public library computer dept. You can then download several manuals and save the info to the memory stick, take it home for review or printing on your computer. Stan

A lot of time the title of the thread does not indicate the information/material contained in the thread. The search function, top of page, will search for information contained with in threads.

Used the computers at the local library when I had dial up. Computer usage was free, there was a small charge per page if I printed out anything.

Edit: I think there is a lock out bar for or a method to lock out the mid-mounted hydraulic cylinder if you want to use the 3-point. I haven't investigated locking out the mid mounted hydraulic cylinder because my 154 has two diverter valves. Once diverter valve controls the mower deck and 3-point. The second diverter valve, I think, controls two hydraulic snap couplers mounted on the right side of the dash. Haven't figured out a use for the two snap couplers.

My 154 has lock-out bar and NO valves anywhere on it! I have only seen my 154 a couple times since I brought it home! thanks; sonny

You can lock out the mid-mount by moving the adjustment screw all the way down. (Adjustment screw is located on the left side of the frame just in front of the clutch pedal) This will prevent the mid-mount from being able to lower and will let the 3-pt hitch only operate.

I can with mine. the three point goes down all the way and I have the woods 59 chained to the heighth I want it to cut at.

Yes and perhaps.

Yes. I have a 3-point and an IH 3260 belly mounted mower. 3-point stays on all the time. I keep a cross drawbar mounted in the 3-point lower links to keep them from flopping around.

that would save a ot of time taking off the 3 point from just looking at it I wasn't sure if I could...thought the cylinder mount would have been in the way of the belt.

I use both the 3-point and mid-lift mower. The hydraulics will lift the lightest implement first.
You can either be patient and wait for the 3-point to lift, then the mid-lift will activate or put a trailer mover on the 3-point hitch (adds weight to the 3-point) and then the mower deck will lift first.
If using the 3-point, I lift both up and use a ratchet strap to hold the deck in the highest position.
