Same thing happening in CT. NYC folks are snatching up almost anything at ridiculous prices. Friend of my son Aron bought an 1,100 sqft ranch on a 60' x 100' lot - $250,000.
A year ago people were fleeing CT!

I have a few 100 cc chainsaws and I just ordered a 36” bar with a milling chain. They have 42”/52” bars too. I need the Alaskan saw mill next. I have trees to take down.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Week ago, local newspaper article by the County Assessor. Real Estate property taxes are going up. Assessor estimates that the county will take in 10% more in taxes for this year than the previous year.

Today, conversation with County Collector. Trying to figure out how to pay the property taxes on real estate gifted to a government entity. Any way, the County Collector started out by adding another 10% to the previous year's property tax bill.

Let's remember the Forum rules, boys. Just don't want this thread to stray into a political direction. A no-no on here.

Was at a Home Depot on 8/13 picking up a mini-fridge to hold us over until our not quite 4 year old $1,600 Samsung fridge was fixed.

2x8x16' #1PT GC board was $17.98. Same board back on 5/6 was $32.57. Feel sorry for the folks that built anything in the spring!

I was in Lowe's two evenings ago and noticed boards have come down right much. I didn't check OSB and plywood, their prices have
been I N S A N E here! Maybe it'll come down some more and I can start that new shed I was planning..... :D

Construction material prices are dropping. Other side of construction cost is labor. Labor prices are going up.

Stripping out the basement in a recently purchased fixer upper to replace the electrical and repair plumbing. Salvalging the 2x4x12's, now 10' long, from 4 each college type dorm rooms, bath, and kitchen area. Guess, they are worth $3-/$4- each, used.

Not sure what we are going to do with 150/200 each 2x4x10's. They are worth to much money to throw in the burn pile. We are gonna store in the hog barn and use as we need them.
