Years back when Grandapa and Dad were farming in Iowa, I visited with a neighbor about 3 miles south of the farm. A natural gas line ran through his front yard. Neighbor said that the natural wasn't entirely free. The oder ingredient was his responsibility as well as it's addition to his distribution line. He also maintained the equipment and the seperate building.
