Left hand drill bits
I plan to add some left hand bits to my tool kit. What sizes are the most common for Cub repair?
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Re: Left hand drill bits
I must have gotten lucky, I bought a HF set several years ago and have only used the smaller sizes a few times to drill the dog leg screws. The ones that I have used have cut good. I broke the 1/16 but that was my fault because I got it jammed behind a carb screw. If I had removed the screw before drilling it probably would have been OK. JMHO Stan

Re: Left hand drill bits
Not looking for the cheapest bits. Just the most common sizes needed to work on a Cub.

There's only one size you'll need, the one you don't have....

Re: Left hand drill bits
I have 2 sets. One from HB. The other from a vender at Portland tractor show. He's from MI. They a better than HB. I have bought lots of bites from him before. Good quality.

Re: Left hand drill bits
Bill, I’m not sure there is any way to know which sizes will be most needed. I’ve always been skeptical of drills from Harbor but left hand drills are not something you will use often, maybe the highest quality is unnecessary. Personally, I only have a couple stray left hand drill, don’t know where they came from. I’ve always thought I should get a set of them.

A 3/32” is a must to drill or back out a broken idle tube in a carb. I got mine at NAPA.

Re: Left hand drill bits
I bought a jobber length assortment from McMaster-Carr. I also bought a left hand chuck for my Drill Dr. so I can keep them sharp. I can't advise as to the useful sizes for a Cub, but that assortment is mighty handy and I haven't used an EZ Out since I bought it.

Re: Left hand drill bits
I’ve bought drills, a number of times, from McMaster Carr, always got good quality from them. Sometimes you just need a certain drill for a certain project so I would order a few of that size.
