Record heat up here in La Crosse yesterday! Went to 103...WOW was it hot!!! I am not built at all for the heat!

Today we are getting much needed rain, and then it is supposed to cool off to 78 degrees   We are going to need COATS tomorrow after all of this heat...

I hope that all are coping well with the heat and that it will be over for all of you very soon!!!!!!

Grteat weather for making hay. Cut, rake and bail. Just be glad you have a kicker on the baler. Course the big round ones are something else.

We should all have a nice cool wine cellar with a work bench to go down to.

About 100 degrees in SW Arkansas. I have been working outside most of the day with frequent trips in for relief provided by the AC and drinking ice water. Still, muscles in my hands were trying to lock up both yesterday and this afternoon. It is time to quit for the day when that happens. Dan

Time for Gatoraid when that happens. Probable an electrolite imbalance.
Seems to me we had summers like this when i was a Kid. Summer of 48, (1948 you guys) I was hitch hiking through Kansas. and Nebraska on Rt 40. Got a little warm. Brings back memories.

It has been hot here as well... working outside pruning me Jack Pines.. humidex puts it at around 38 or 39C.. which I think is the high 90's or low 100's.. been like this for a week.

We have had some magnificent flash and bangs all week as well, especially around 2am :!: :!: Absolutely awesome..

few tornado watches as well.. reminds me of me youth in Northern Ontario.. way back in the 50's.. yeah 1950's

During these very hot dry days, drink many of liquids but save the very cool one to the end. If you think you need two liters drink one and then drink the next one about 30-69 minutes later. Gator aid good for the electrolytes.

I have a nice legioner's hat. Big broad brim plus a clothe that shades the back of neck.

On days like this I wish for a sun umbrella but Little Indy reminds me that she does not have one.

Well, it is so hot across the east, that thunderstorms are developing into tornado's.

My daughter Bri is in Quebec City.. and an F1 hit right outside her apartment building last night. It did a fair amount of damage, thankfully she is safe and sound. Neighbourhood needs to be cleaned up a lot as there are trees down and damage to small buildings and such. The more durable steel and concrete structures were unscathed apparently...
