and living in a transmitter site in south St. Louis. Here is a picture of him with the equpiment he has been installing for the last 3 weeks with another week or two to go. this combines the outptu of 10 different FM broadcast radio stations to a single feed so they can all share a singel antenna.
Here he is beside one of the 2 antennas that will be installed atop the 1,000 foot tower in the next few days. this antenan weighs 15,000 pounds, and it's mate barely visible to the left weighs 22,000 pounds.
sorry for the blotchy colors, nut I am still on dial up and compressed the pix quite a bit to reduce tiem required to upload.

Here is a tower crew on their hway up to prepare for hositing the tower. The basket is begenough to hold 10 people plus tools, and is approximately 600 feeet up at thsi point.
This is the gin pole used to pull the heavy antennas up into place. The antennas are hoiste dwith a diesel powered winch using 7/8 steel cable.

Wow It is great. I have worked with wave guide but never at the power that looks to use. I haven't heard the term gin pole but once since my grandfather passed away in 1948. He did marine rigging. At the time I was the one that used the term. I was hoisting a slate to use as a chimney cap for a double chimney.

I was wondering how to get ahold of Donny. I sent him a check about a month ago and I think he must be holding it for his retirement or something. The wife was trying to balance the bussiness check book and it kept coming up wrong and she thought I had been to harbor freight again, lol I said nope Ill bet its that darn check I sent to TX must be the poney exspress needs some hay or something to get up here to my bank in NY.
