I've never had anything of that value stolen. But it sure makes you want to get ahold of the thief and apply some middle eastern justice. Like you said, you'll find out what kind of agent and insurance company you've been dealing with.

Donny, I hope the insurance pays off well, I would rather through them in the river than someone steel them. At lest you would no where they were.
they will end up in a pawn shop.

Every time I travel somewhere with the van and trailer and have to spend the night at a hotel I'm nervous as hell till morning. You need to look into one of those things mechanics have for their tool boxes. Wireless tool theft protection. I should look into it too. If for nothing else but peace of mind. Mighty sorry about your bad luck Donny. :(

Donny,

I'm real sorry to heaqr about this. It sucks!

I do hope you and insurance can get it dealt with quickly.

It really p's me off that some people think it's okay to steal stuff that isn't theirs. I'll help Ralph and Josh with the rope thing, if y'all catch him.

Best of luck.

Tough break Donny, if the equipment is real specialized they most likely will dump it cheap and quick. Chances are they won't know what it is.

Donny,

Man, that stinks! Happened to me a number of years ago, and it makes you want to track the guys down and beat the stuffing out of 'em!

One idea from a recovering lawyer. Call the local police department where the break-in ocurred and ask them for a history of break-ins on that hotel property over the last year or two. If there have been a bunch and the hotel didn't warn or post signs, they may share some liability with their insurance. Maybe enough to cover your deductible? Just a thought.

In all likelihood though, you'll just have to do a good job documenting the value of all the equipment stolen, and work with your insurance company to get the claim paid in a timely fashion.

Keep detailed notes of all conversations with everybody, and be nice and firm! Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

happened to me once. Pulled into Home Depot realized I had about $1000 dollars in tools in a tool box roll away in the bed of the pick up. Didn't want to run all the way back home and return, so I thought I could quickly run in get what I needed and run back, Nope, it was like being kicked in the stomach. every tool was engraved with my name on it. Burns me to no end thinking that some crook is out there using my tools with my name engraved in them. Insurance didn't cover it

Stealing a mans tools or dog is worse than stealing a mans wife. It's too bad the media plays down crimes like this and don't have the guts to show a picture of the person when they get caught. Oops, did I say something that was politically incorrect?
