Hey Mike, that looks like a fine purchase. I have driven Ford trucks as long as I can remember and used them for my company to pull trailers, so when my wife wanted a Nissan Xterra, I was a little reluctant. Turned out to be a fantastic vehicle. It is great in the mud and snow. I have never towed anything but I am sure it would do fine for pulling tractors.
Let me comment on this Mike. Don't "consider" Make absolutely sure you have brakes on your trailer. This is coming from someone who pulls trailers everyday. If you don't have brakes, even pulling an empty trailer will eventually wear on your brakes. Second and most important, when you are coming up to an intersection and the light turns yellow and you apply your brakes only to be pushed out in the middle of the intersection, you will wish you had trailer brakes, as well as if someone pulls out in front of you. BY ALL MEANS GET A TRAILER WITH GOOD BRAKES. You will also need the brake control installed in your truck on the drivers side. Have fun pulling all those cubs!!!Rick Spivey wrote:
Consider getting a good trailer, maybe even with brakes, so you don't overtax the vehicle brakes.
