Best place to list guns for sale

Postby 2cubs2cases » Sun Mar 30, 2008 2:45 pm

I have decided to sell some of my gun collection. Because of a neck injury shooting a rifle or a shotgun is not a good idea. I can list them in the local newspaper but do not like the idea of letting everyone know my location. Does anyone have any experience with online posting and sale?

I have a bit of experience in the firearms collecting game. The first question that needs to be asked is what type of collection is it? Is it kind of a utilitarian collection of hunting guns, a collection of antique guns or a military collection? Are the firearms moderately priced or are they high dollar collectibles? Feel free to PM me if you don't feel comfortable answering these questions online. I know I wouldn't be.

If you want to sell them yourself, check out Gunbroker.com or Auctionarms.com. They are both online auctions requiring the aid of an FFL holder. I have used both and have been very happy with the results.
Another option would be, if you have local consignment auctions, check with the auctioneer maybe he would sell them.

What he said. I've sold both pistols and rifles on gunbroker.com with excellent results, and shipping was a lot easier than you think.

I agree with the above posts. If you are shipping them you must send them to an FFL license holder on the receiving end. Gun dealer , pawn shop etc. You will have to get a copy of their license to present to the shipping company and they can only be delivered to the address on that FFL. Feel free to contact me for further and more detailed info.

All of my experiences have been good except 1.

Auction Arms , Guns America , GunBroker.com Tucos trader have provided Very Good Experiences overall covering over 5 years.

I got scammed on a 150 purchase one time from a guy in NY and other than that it has been a very + experience.

I follow the ole saying. "If something doesnt feel right" you know the rest.
That's my .02
