I sent my check to AARP a month ago. Still waiting for my magazine and all the info. I did use the card at a motel in Maine a few weeks ago :D
Sorry if this offended anyone, I guess everyone has a different sense of humor.

Batty,

I don't think it necessarily offended anyone, but we do have youngsters (pre-teens) who are on the board from time to time. Some things may not be appropriate for their viewing/reading.

Batty,
don't know about the others, but after living on this planet for 59 years and change, putting up and being exposed to just about every type and kind of BS imaginable not to mention the crisis's, disappointments, hardships and tragedies....these days it'd take a lot more than your post to offend me!

I never saw what might have been potentially offending or potentially funny, but I do like AARP...the magazine is very interesting and the membership card produces some nice discounts!

AARP is a pretty good advocate for those of us who are over 50...and I'm glad it's there.

I saw it this am don't think it would have carried a PG rating. At 50 I have just started to get the AARP membership info I am not ready yet,(in my mind anyway). As far as the post being offensive my opinion is lighten up it was funny. Some of my friends on the forum know I have a great deal of personal stress in my life right now. I am fine, dealing with some serious health issues with 2 siblings and my mother in law enough said. I am a firm believer that laughter, to steal one from Readers Digest, is the best medicine. Being able to laugh at ones self isn't a bad thing. Just my opinion!

Joe, ten years ago i probably woulda thought it was funny also! Now that i'm looking at 60 myself and because of all the jokes and disrespect towards senior citizens in our society lately, it ain't so humorous. There was a time in this country and currently in many other cultures where elders are held in high respect!
No i'm not personally offended by the post as i mentioned earlier just did not find any of it humorous.

Sometimes the truth has a lot of humor in it. I'm real close to 60 myself but try to find a little humor in life even if it is at my expense  I didn't see the origional post so I asked batty to PM it to me. I don't try to offend ANYONE on here or in my personal life but sometimes ya gotta bust a gut laughing. At least I do. Ask Ketchum,I've ribbed him a time or two. Y'all have a gooden. Grump
