I picked up this old analyzer yesterday. I tried to use it on one of my Cubs this morning, but I kept getting error messages say it was out of paper. Does anybody know if modern copy paper will work with this?

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Re: Vintage Engine Analyzer
Yes modern copy paper should work fine and it does appear you are out.
I believe the leads are hooked up wrong though for a 6v positive ground analyzer, hopefully you didn't fry it.

Don't want to contradict you, indy, but I'm fairly certain that's a manual analyzer, not electric. Crank, uh, I mean, just tap to start/stop. The good thing is that you can walk away for a beverage and not worry about leaving it on...

Re: Vintage Engine Analyzer
Here in Denmark we call it a "failure 40" = the fault is 40 centimetre (appr. 16") in front of the analyzer

Re: Vintage Engine Analyzer
Clearly, it tried to print the issue found.
Error Code PO104 - Intake Airflow Blocked by Soup Can.
Next time, be sure the paper is installed prior to analysis!

Re: Vintage Engine Analyzer
Copy paper will work. But you will need a new ink cartridge - - err. ribbon.
Those analyzers are a bit temperamental but will function properly with an operator attitude and head space adjustment.

Re: Vintage Engine Analyzer
It is pretty helpful to have a pocket calculator to interpret the readings from a manual engine analyzer. Here are a couple manual calculators that don't require electricity.
The second is a later design, a deluxe model with memory.
