Saw the program about the museum on RFD TV. Haven't been there. It's only about an hours drive from daughter's house. Day trip planned for next summer.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Drove half-way across the country to see it. Totally worth it.

It is a good time. If you have some extra time stop in Sigurney Iowa too at Dumonts Oliver. He has a lot of stuff in a small place. If you like pedal tractors, I think he has every one ever made.

Since our trip in '09 I have gotten more interested in WWII and cold war history, so now I wish we had spent another day or two and gone a little further west towards Omaha to see the Strategic Air Command (Strategic Air and Space) Museum.

Saw it on RFD, too. I'd sure like to spend a couple of days there.

Hey Billy Ray, how about it. Sounds like a road trip for us.

No, will have to check it out.

I have gotten really carried away with the Cold War in the last year or so. I've always had an interest in WWII, but if you read much about the end of WWII, next thing you know you're into the Cold War. Plus, my wife's uncle passed away this spring. I knew he was in the Air Force, but never really had a chance to hear him talk about it (which, like so many former servicemen, he rarely did). He retired as a Lt. Colonel. I learned at his funeral (on Memorial Day weekend) that he was in SAC--as a radar navigator on a B-52. He flew over 100 missions over Vietnam. That really got me interested in the Cold War after that.
