Drill Bit Extension

Postby Don McCombs » Tue Aug 19, 2014 7:42 pm

I need to drill out one of the 10-24 lower grille sheet mounting screws on the 78 and, of course, it is one of the ones on the right side behind the steering shaft seal retainer. I have the necessary left hand bits, but they're not long enough to get the job done. Has anyone come across any sort of reasonably priced drill bit extension for the smaller bits? All I can find are the 1/4 inch quick change bit extensions. Thanks.

It might be easier to make one than find one...

Drill a hole in a 10 inch piece of 3/8 cold roll The size of the bit, then drill and tap the side for a set screw. You can make it in 10 min.
