Site Lock-up

Postby Don McCombs » Sun Dec 06, 2015 6:04 pm

I keep getting locked up on FarmallCub.com. This site is the only place this happens. I get an error message as follows... "Farmallcub.com is not responding due to a long running script." anyone else getting this error? Thanks.

I haven't had that problem, but today the site seems to halt longer than normal at each page change while the ads download. You can't scroll down until they finish loading.

I have gotten that issue on other sites, but not this one, I think it is caused by all the stupid ads that are running

Mine has been fine also.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

I've been seeing the problem the last couple days, more on other sites but eventually getting it here too. I am seeing incomplete page displays that leave the contents of the current IE tab disabled. It appears that the regular page content is all downloaded but some of the ads are missing or incomplete. It usually seems to work to force another page refresh.

I wonder if the ads are getting too big, too much data load. I also wonder if Microsoft is messing up the system in their patch updates to encourage conversion to W10.

And with that said, it started again. Lock up, cut off. incompatible site, took a little time to log back in.

Jim, I am using Windows 10. I updated all the definitions and ran scans on all my protection software last night. We'll see if that makes a difference.

EDIT: Well, it happened again just after I posted this last message.

I have been seeing lock ups, actually internet just freezing, but it is happening on all sights, I think because Centurylink is overloading their circuits. They are bad about not wanting to provide enough bandwidth for customers. When internet first came to this area many years ago we tried to tell them that people in rural areas would use it a lot more than those in metropolitan areas, but they did not think we were smart enough to know anything. It took them 4 or 5 years to catch up with demand, but now they are falling behind again.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

MY guess: Online Christmas Shoppers strike again. ;)
There is no errors showing on the server, so I can only venture that the internet, in general, is suffering overload.

Thanks for checking, Dennis. You are probably correct. The timing is right, anyway. After a minute or two, a message does come up allowing me to stop the script.
