Another project to do before the Bash!

Got a project that you are working on that is not a tractor? Maybe a barn to hold your tractors or just fun stuff like woodworking, glass, tools, sheds, gardens, custom implements, etc., this is the place to talk about it.

Another project to do before the Bash!

Postby Barnyard » Sat Apr 08, 2017 10:59 pm

While the driveway gets worked on as time permits during the day, the loft and shop walls in the new barn are my night projects. While I don't really plan to have either project totally complete by time the Bash rolls around, the barnyard will look quite a bit different this year. Tomorrow I do mowing.

Remember, Bill, the offer is still open if you need some help and want to have a work day. I'll bet Gary would ride down with me and we could probably pick up a couple more from Indiana. Or if you wear yourself out and want to have a play day, we could help you with that, too!

Thanks Denny, I appreciate the offer. With so many other things going on, I am just using these projects as fillers. I do an hour here and an hour there. My son in law will drop by for the two man job when it happens.

Got home from our Amvets gathering around 8:30 and decided to work on the new loft in the barn for a bit.  I was able to move the step in place and get a good test fit.  Now it just needs some adjustments.

Got the steps up into place. A little more tweaking to do.

A little background on these steps. I went to our local, guy who makes doors, windows, and such and asked if he built steps. He said he did and asked how high I needed them. I told him ten feet. He said he had a set he built eight or ten years ago for a guy but never took a deposit. The guy never came back for them. He said they may fit but wasn't sure but he would take $150.00 for them just to get them out of his way. They turned out to be three steps short, but I couldn't pass up that deal. I am in the process of building the additional steps.

Just buy a three step ladder and put it there. :hattip:
