DSCF 2016 Projects

Postby Mr E » Mon Jan 25, 2016 9:36 am

Please check out the website for this year's Fest.

We are ready to add your project(s) to the project list. Billy Ray needs to start planning how he will orchestrate the cubs in and out of the shop, so bring on the projects.
Would sure like to get them on the list, large or small, come one - come all.

Roy, I will probably bring my latest Cub that is still on the trailer (too lazy to unload it right now). It is a non-runner, but we think that is an easy fix. Once I get it running (did I say probably an easy fix) I will change oil in trans and engine as well as fine tune it and possibly replace the rear rims. I could do this here in my shop, but I need to bring the trailer for other things anyway (did I say I was too lazy to unload it here right now).
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

'56 CUB ("new" and not running, but unstuck.
Primary goal is to get it running.

While I have the help and advice of the "experts":
Compression check
Valve adjustment
Carb rebuilt
Petronix Ignition Installed
All fluids changed (eng oil/filter, trans, finals, steering)

If extra time:
Rebuild leaking final
Rebuild PTO
Possible rear tire swap

I know it's a long list, so will hope for any or all of the above! :worthy:

NOTE: Barnyard, we can have a challenge for who gets their cub running first!!

If Bill will have a turning plow with him I would like to see how the adjustments are made on the plow to get it to plow right. I have a two way plow that I want to use this spring. I am trying to get all the bolts loose, and the plow cleaned up. I am unable to bring it with me account bring three other people with me and my truck will not haul 4 people.

Chet, If you have bands that need relined, bring them along. I'll bring rivets and linings. If not, I can go over the procedure with you. Here's a link to a "How to" that Raymond and I did several years ago: viewtopic.php?f=54&t=66324

I have a ring gear that needs to be removed and rotated or flipped and since I've never attempted this, I plan to bring it along to get some advice and suggestions. If there is tools/equipment to try it then good, otherwise I can use the knowledge gained for a later attempt. Thanks, Stan

Harold,

I'm sure there will be a Cub and plow there. I will be more than happy to show you (and others) how to adjust a plow. While you are waiting, you might want to review this: http://farmallcub.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=149&t=38411
