Worthington Chief
I've had this tractor for a year and a half, and have never shared here. There is some contention on the year, due to a missing serial tag that's probably a souvenir on someone's tool box, but it is somewhere in the 1949-52 range. It is an F Model Worthington Chief. As many of you know, Worthington made reel mowers and golf course tractors out of Stroudsburg, PA. Many tractors were based off of Model T, A, & B Fords, as well as Chryslers, and in this case, the 8N. This one is front wheel drive, has a Ford 1 Ton axle in front, a 1/2 ton shortened beam axle in back, and a 4 speed truck trans with granny low. The reduction is handled by a triple roller chain and gear in a transfer case of sorts. With the rear steer, it can turn a pretty tight radius. If you have the guts to put it in 4th, this tractor will do 40mph down the road, but it's a little hairy with the rear steer! A handy tractor for around the property, and ALWAYS a hit at shows. Here's a short clip of it in action: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/QdOPJ2BKlQA

I’ve seen quite a few Worthington’s but nothing quite like this. Very unique and very cool!

Thanks for taking the time to post. I love the Fords, too.
Sure would be handy to get some firewood out of some tight spaces.
Now to find an artist to paint the Ford script onto the fenders to set it off. Not a job for the uninitiated.

Re: Worthington Chief
Oh wow! What a neat machine. I can't imaging doing any kind of speed with a rear-steer machine. Better have a good helmet and be suited-up like a hockey goalie.
