Jim Becker wrote:.............I would guess any YC carburetor is about the same. The differences are probably no more than levers on the shafts and the jetting.
Thanks everyone, I've done some looking into the similarities and differences on the Tillotson YC series carbs and about come to the same conclusion as Jim Becker's statement above. I've also had my YC6A opened up and agree with Gary Dotson's assessment that the gaskets can be reproduced without too much trouble. I should have the recently purchased carb in hand in a few days and get a better look at what is possible. Stan

The one I did, came from a parts tractor, that had set for years. The gaskets were really dried up. Maybe yours won’t even need gaskets.

Made contact with Morgan, no more info on the YC7A carb. Gaskets and seals for both are on the way from McDonald Carb. :D

staninlowerAL wrote::) I purchased one on ebay (not the one tst posted above). Pretty sure it's going to need a rebuild but the price was right. Anyone have any info on a YC7A? Thanks. Stan

UPDATE: My newly purchased YC7A carb has arrived and I'm well on the way to repairing it to work on my AVERY V. Throttle and choke shafts are stuck and it's going to get a thorough cleaning, new gasket/seals and some minor repair to the linkage but otherwise seems to be in good condition. It's beginning to look like this search is finally over after a lo.o.o.o.g time!! :D Stan

A soak in Chem-Dip and a soda blast should clean it up nicely.

This is a follow-up on this topic. I found and substituted a Tillotson YC7A carb, got all the parts freed up and a bracket made to compensate for the 5/16" mounting studs and a wider mounting spacing. I chose to make this from 1/4" flat stock (one for the carb mounting flange and one for the manifold mounting flange), and used countersunk cap screws to connect it together so the gaskets will seal. The entire assembly will be a LACubfest project to clean, adjust and test for satisfactory operation. Hopefully, this brings to a close an eight+ year search for a replacement carb. :D Stan
